One of the most important opportunities for "lay ministry" lies within our grasp in the Spiritual Fellowship Group program. Here, 8-11 members gather, usually twice monthly, to share ideas, to deepen their commitment to this program and to their fellow group members.
These groups are also known as Covenant Groups because the members "covenant " to give these meetings high priority, to keep information shared in confidence, and to absorb information shared as we endeavor to live our lives in ever more meaningful ways.
It was very gratifying to read the responses in the UUCOV Survey that was recently published. The Spiritual Fellowship Groups were deemed to be among the most popular church activities.
At present we have nine groups which break down as follows: five all females, two mixed male/female and two all male groups. Facilitators for this year include:
Bobbie Gleason, Fran Vanacek, Peg Drogosch, Nancy Ryder & Carol Wollert, Lynn Jordan, Jeanne McIntyre & Pat Schwing, Dean Inglis, Jeff Wides & Gil Brinkerhoff and Brad Hardin.
Our interim minister, Don Beaudreault, is very enthusiastic about participating in this activity and we look forward to receiving his input and leadership.
